Product Specifications:
Highland Harvest's main product has been, and continues to be, its eggs. Our nest direct eggs are produced by range-
free chickens that gather most of their nutrients naturally
on our grounds. Our eggs come in a wide variety of colors
because we hand select particular breeds to give us our
"rainbow" trademark . Looking past the normal whites and
browns, we include blues and greens from our South American
and Dutch breeds that normally camouflage their eggs in
their environment. We have chocolate-dark-brown eggs that
really do look like they are made of chocolate. We cross
breed hens to create a more diverse colored eggshell of
pinks and hues of pale blue.
Special Services:
With dozens of raised-bed garden boxes, chickens provide not only eggs and meat, they help amend the soil with nitrogen-rich fertilizer giving us healthy black soil. Over a decade worth of experience has taught us many long forgotten secrets to maintaining our farm totally naturally. We have picked the brains of dozens of old-timers to handle things the way they did before chemicals made their appearance. Occasionally we have to pay with "imperfect" LOOKING fruit & produce but, as they say, "Looks ain't everything". Content IS. Peace of mind IS.
